Dear Bonduers,
A season of change is upon us.
First and foremost, I would like to extend a warm welcome to our newest batch of freshmen at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business. You carry the hopes and expectations of Bonduers past, as you strive to leave your mark on our growing institution. Each of you has chosen SMU for your own reasons, and I believe that you will find what you were looking for if you set your heart on it.
I say this because our university offers a myriad of possibilities and opportunities. As you would have witnessed at Vivace, SMU offers you a wide range of outlets to express your own identity. Hopefully the first week of the academic term (and barrage of pre-Vivace emails) has not dampened your enthusiasm for a holistic university experience. We eagerly await your innovative ideas and fresh perspectives, because you are a catalyst for change.
For our seniors, I hope the summer of 2011 was a fruitful and enriching adventure. The first week of school after such a long break is never easy, so do find the little joys that enrich your SMU life; seek comfort in the familiarity of your friends and CCAs. One thing I learnt over my summer experience is that university life is our best platform to build lasting friendships before our entry into the workforce - so cherish those close to you now.
Over the summer, the Bondue 7th Executive Committee and our Organizing Committees have worked hard to redefine your LKCSB experience. We have listened to your calls for change, and are eager to shape an increasingly holistic business school environment. We are gearing towards a community that not only appreciates the value of having fun, but also promotes the academic and professional development of our students. I believe that our lineup of events and engagement with the student body this year will reflect this change for the better.
Upcoming Events
The imminent Bondue Night 2011: Slight Scarlet, which replaces Vegas Night on our calendar, is a fashion show cum cocktail event in the name of charity. Our Organizing Committee has worked tirelessly to ensure the success of this new initiative that is sure to eclipse your experience at any bash or run-of-the-mill party.
For our penultimate and final year students, you will not be neglected for long as we will be hosting an event with the opportunity for you to network with line managers and industry practitioners. We understand your worries amid the current economic gloom and share similar sentiments about ratios at school-wide events. It will be an event organized by students; for students. More details will be announced in due course.
Team Bondue
Just as how the World Cup can invigorate nations, we are extremely proud of the sportsmen (and sportswomen) representing Team Bondue. This is a call-out for all our outstanding sportsmen to fly our flag in the upcoming Inter-Faculty Games. We are counting on our sporting fraternity to defend the Challenge Trophy we won last year as Overall Champions across the 6 schools. Furthermore, you can look forward to an exclusive Team Bondue jersey given specially to our sportsmen who sweat and bleed for the school.
Bondue Elections
In line with the theme of change, we are looking for new blood to take up the yoke of leading the Lee Kong Chian School of Business to greater heights. Bondue Elections will commence in Week 3 with an info session. I would love to see a new generation of aspiring leaders continue the legacy of shaping our business school.
As a Bonduer, you can expect more good things to come from a more polished and professional Bondue. Once again, thank you for the continued support in giving us a chance to represent you.
Making You Our Business
Sincerely,
Glenn Ang

Dear Bonduers,
As part of the Bondue Executive Committee's continued efforts to represent the LKCSB undergraduate population and amplify your collective voice, we have drafted out a survey to relay your views to the school's policy makers.
Your feedback has proved to be crucial in establishing the direction that you want our school to move towards. From bringing you the best welfare drives that SMU has to offer, to forging greater links with the industry such as the upcoming Bondue Keynote Forum. We hope to pioneer initiatives for the betterment of our students, as well as foster a sense of pride and belonging toward LKCSB.
We hope you'll be able to take a few minutes out of this well deserved recess week to help us adequately represent your sentiments by filling up this short survey. Let us know what you feel is lacking at LKCSB and we'll definitely do our best to see that your needs are met.
Thank you in advance for this small gesture that will aid us in serving you better.
